Endodontics Personal Statement

Seeing the patients smile after administering emergency root canal treatment in cases of acute dental pain is one of the most rewarding experience that motivates me towards a career in Endodontics. In 13 years of private practice, I have cherished success in healing pain by serving the community and developing the passion for a specialized practice. I am eager to learn more about new techniques and approaches to treatment through didactic and practical training in a residency program. Moreover, I want to upgrade my knowledge in the applications of advanced technology and learn to conduct contemporary research. Earning an MS degree will help fulfill my aspiration of a career in academics and serve as a stepping stone in achieving professional as well as personal satisfaction. Exposure to numerous patients provided me the opportunity to improve manual dexterity, analytical skills, and develop compassion in understanding the needs of the community. By delivering a wide array of treatments with comprehensive treatment planning in collaboration with consultants, we were successful in increasing the ratio of patients opting for root canal treatment. However, variables such as locating accessory canals and retrieval of broken files in root canals were primary concerns that needed attention.
