I use this fear to motivate me to keep moving forward, to help push myself out of bed when I am on day seventeen of ten hour days without a day off, and help me be the role model to my employees that I looked for in my management while I was out on the floor. An important factor that I have to hit on is having a good support system. My wife is also working overtime with my child while I work these long days, late nights at school, or not getting to bed until she’s fast asleep as I work on homework or work projects. I have one name on my list in my mentorship program, but I will pick the brain of any well-established manager, regardless of the field he or she might work in.
