The G3 by far is the single most critical component in maneuvering units; it is an operation, which is only executable through the product of orders. The G3 produces the Task Organization of all Divisional elements down to the Battalion level, and this feeds the DTO with critical information for planning purposes. An important side note, in a decisive action the DTO should be placed into the G3 office in order to better facilitate the ever change Task Organization revisions. The G3 ultimately provides the scheme of maneuver, the order of march, and what passage points the subordinate units need to be arrayed at prior to conducting the FPOL. The DTO, in conjunction with the MCB, can then plan the route, or corridor(s), and determine the vehicle density of the…

Do you ever really think about the military in the media though? It’s a very scary thought to see or hear about what our military does for us. Nobody really wants to hear about that stuff unless it’s really important like the Osama Bin Laden death, or how many kills Chris Kyle had. With these lessons learned, and with the transformation into a Brigade level concept of deploying, new ideas and practices were put into operation. In today's Army, Brigade Commanders have organic sustainment battalions that are responsible for ensuring the requirement for logistics are met. Army Sustainment said, "Army logisticians have eliminated redundancy, streamlined logistics support, and removed unnecessary layers of logistics command to extend the operational reach of the brigade commander. With the number of remote outpost's, and small forward operating bases that are strewn throughout the countryside in Afghanistan and Iraq, having effective and efficient sustainment methods is imperative.…
