It was year nine hundred ninety nine of the great Thousand Year War between the dwarves and the elves. The dwarves were winning, as they had twenty five troops remaining, while the elves only had ten. This was a time when all apples roamed free, frolicking through the fields of Kwicksemiel. Since dwarves do not have thumbs, the apples were the perfect food. They scooped apples off of the grassy green open fields and took three huge bites, finishing the apples, core and all. The dwarves ate nothing but apples, and since they were so plentiful, they would never forgo consumption. The elves had a much more diverse diet, they could eat just about anything for nutrition. The ten elves and twenty five dwarves were facing off on the open plain. The bow and arrow-wielding elves and the dwarves, each brandishing their clubs, were staring at each other, not ten feet away. “We need to win this battle…” the elves whispered to one another, barely audible. “Let’s kill ‘em all!” The dwarves were a lot less secrete about their procedures. The dwarves charged, and the elves started firing their bows and arrows. One dwarf had fallen. They rest kept up their momentum, each taking a brisk swing. Two elves had received fatal blows to their skulls, leaving eight. That night the elves recollected, and were disappointed and furious that they had lost two dear friends, Waldo and Sanjay. The dwarves did not care that one of their soldiers had perished, for they were incapable of feeling emotion. “We somehow need to stop them! Garrison, go spy on them!” The Elf Battalion’s General commanded. Come nightfall, Garrison snuck to the base of the dwarves and started observing the dwarves.
