Starting this business was not an easy venture for Pettee, however. In order to become an accredited business, she had to work with the state of Connecticut to get an LLC. This experience has brought a new level of maturity to Pettee, and she explains that“You have to think about money and financials more than you thought. You can’t run out of money because, if you do, your company is out of business.” As a high school senior who knows how to manage account books for her own company, Lizzie says it is pretty difficult to compare her job to an after school activity.
