The reason why I chose this genre is because I wanted to see more about it and what goes in each of the three stories. In all three stories there is something to be learned from the interactions of the people. The stories are similar and different in many ways. The things that I will be discussing are science and technology, The elements of science, critical aspects of society, human nature and society, and the theme. There are many scientific elements in all three stories, Some of the elements are hard to find. The first story is “ A Sound of Thunder“ by Ray Bradbury. The first element is technology advancements showing how the characters have a time machine where they go to the future or the past. They try to use the time machine to help …show more content…
They are all separated by what they are good at. The people have certain jobs that require them to do things that they don't want to do, but they have to follow the rules. In “A Sound of Thunder” they were telling Eckels to stay on the path and to not ruin the timeline of when to shoot the dinosaur. In “The Fog Horn,” they didn't have critical things that happen to the society. “The Fog Horn,” has many differences from the other two stories. The theme of “The Fog Horn” was “you can’t live anything too much in the world.” This means that you shouldn’t get carried away in life, but to live a life calm and with effort. The theme in “Harrison Bergeron” it is about rules and order which means they are always following rules and order in their lives. The theme for “The Sound of Thunder,” is the little things make a big difference. The theme is trying to say that the little things that they did matter because it can affect things that are happening. I feel like all three stories are different in the way they say and do things. The three stories are all different in how they handle situations. We can learn that not each story is the same way, but we can learn from

In stories, literary elements are used to help develop a theme or a main idea about the whole story in general. Theme, too, is considered a literary element. In each story, “The Most Dangerous Game,” “Ambush,” and “The Sniper,” each author uses conflict and characters to develop a theme. The similarities aren’t clear to see in the short stories, “Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been? and A Good Man is Hard to Find”, but if you look closely you can see multiple; one being that the main characters are both female, selfish, self-absorbed and conceited. This selfishness is shown by the grandmother; in A Good Man is Hard to Find, when she takes her cat on vacation, callously saying “because he would miss her too much and she was afraid he might brush against one of the gas burners and accidentally asphyxiate himself” (O’Connor 1097) cats are independent animals and its doubtful the cat would even know she was gone, but the reality is is that would miss the cat. Comparative to the grandmother, Connie in “Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been?” demonstrates her selfishness by snubbing her families’ barbeque “rolling her eyes to let her mother know just what she thought of it” (Oates 2129).…

Heroes typically have the characteristics of being strong and fearless. The ancient hero Gilgamesh had these ideals in the story the Epic of Gilgamesh, written in Western Asia in 2000 B.C.E. Even though these ideals are present, they are not as evident in the hero Harry Potter from J.K Rowling’s Harry Potter series written in the 21st century. However, in almost every book, no matter what the culture or time period are, the same basic themes of character traits, power and death recur.…

Changes in science have always prompted changes in science fiction. However, the general structure of the novels have remained essentially the same throughout the ages. Because of this, it is possible to say with a fair amount of certainty that the Science-Fiction genre has remained essentially the same despite addressing new material to keep the stories fresh. Novels such as Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson and 20000 Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne do a particularly good job of showing how the structure of the story has remained essentially the same despite the vast gulf between their subjects. These novels were chosen because they stand as two titans of the Science-Fiction genre that have managed to spark several years worth of controversy…

Then, I came up with some ideas by comparing both stories in order to achieve a true reality. First is to escape from our own view of reality. Secondly, we must accept the truth of a reality and face the reality wisely. At last, we have to be open for new changes and learn from everything that comes across in our lives. In the end all of these stories brings into the question of the world we know.…
