An elective C-section is a procedure in which the mother chooses to have a C-section instead of laboring and delivering vaginally. This lets the mother choose the way she wants her baby born. Many women do not want to have labor pains, or have other reasons they do not want to deliver vaginally.
Recently, Kim Kardashian had a procedure called a version to turn her baby who was breech to face head down, so she could have a vaginal delivery. Kim stated, “"Obviously, if it's an emergency and for the safety of my son, I will get a C-section—but if I don't need one, I'd rather not."
