Every day, our elbows are used a lot in many ways. Although elbows pain are not really serious, it can make you frustrating and make your activities more inconvenient.
Body:
How is the elbow designed?
- The elbow, in essence, is a joint which is formed by the union of three major bones is supported by ligaments. Connected to the bones by tendons, muscles move those bones in several ways.
The bones that create the elbow are included:
Humerus: This long bone extends from the shoulder socket and joins the radius and ulna to form the elbow.
Radius: This forearm bone runs from the elbow to the thumb side of the wrist.
Ulna: This forearm bone will run from the elbow to the “pinkie” side of the wrist.

- These tendons are able to be injured, especially with repetitive motions of the forearm, such as using a manual screwdriver, washing windows, or hitting a backhand in tennis play.
- Tennis elbow is the results in inflammation of the tendons causing pain over the outside of the elbow, occasionally with warmth and swelling, but always with local tenderness.
Medial Epicondylitis (Golfer's Elbow)
- Medial epicondylitis is inflammation at the point where the tendons of the forearm attach to the bony prominence of the inner elbow.
- For example, this tendon can become strained in a golf swing, but many other repetitive motions can injure the tendon.
- Golfer's elbow is characterized by local pain and tenderness over the inner elbow.
Olecranon Bursitis
- Olecranon bursitis (the inflammation of the bursa at the tip of the elbow) may occur from injury or minor trauma, as a result of systemic diseases for example gout or rheumatoid arthritis, or can be due to a local infection.
- Olecranon bursitis is typically associated with swelling over the tip of the elbow, while range of motion of the inner elbow joint is
