El Dia De Muertos Research Paper

Families are structured by their traditions, beliefs and family issues which make every family unique. The practice of a tradition in a family is a way to shape and identify what is important to the members of that family. Mexicans families are known for their cultural traditions such as el grito de Dolores, posadas, and important dates that are used to bring the family together. I have a classic Mexican family who follow the Mexican traditions and gives a unique and special touch that transforms a global tradition into a family tradition. A beautiful tradition in my family that helps me to shape the identity of my family is el dia de muertos. El dia de muertos is a significant tradition in my family because it creates a connection between each member, it gives us the opportunity to share stories, and it guide us to be a better family. Family traditions are important to me because with these traditions I can determine the kind of family that everyone has and what their beliefs are. We have a rule with this tradition, the rule is: we cannot make the same food, altars or things than last years, so we try to change the view of the concept every year. This also apply with the storytelling, whoever tell a story cannot tell the same story the next year, so we have to listen well and change the order for the next year. I believe the by practicing this rule we came a better family every year, since we are force to listen to everyone’s story and to came up with new ideas for the next year.
