Childcare Director Interview (My answers for these were taken from both past conversations I have had with the director as well as my cooperating teacher since the director was gone recently due to a family issue out of state. I saw here very briefly on my last day for the first time in a while and because she was in the middle of something I only got to thank her for letting me be there this semester before I left. From my current placement I have experience of working with a child going through this transition, this had a very big effect on the child holistically. It became obvious to me that the child was very worried and unsettled about this transition as we noticed a negative change in the child's behaviour as he started becoming aggressive to other children and started a tendency to play alone and withdraw himself from the class. There was also a significant decrease in his school work performance as he was very withdrawn and found it difficult to communicate with the other children and sometimes staff. Working within the multi-agency team we introduced this child to an advocate which acted as a professional friend and from this we saw a slight improvement in the child's holistic development and behaviour. When working within the school team, we were part of the multi-agency team who contributed to…

This interview took place in Dean Vargas’ office. As a first year advisor in the school of engineering, she has been busy in the past month assisting first year students in picking which type of engineering they are most interested in and helping them to plan their schedules for the upcoming year. This meant that she did not have the time to meet somewhere else. If this were not a factor, I would have suggested meeting in a cafe as that would have caused Dean Vargas to view me less as one of her many students and more as an individual woman, coming to her for assistance in navigating the unique set of circumstance women engineers need to navigate. I believe that as a result of holding the meeting in her office and not in a secondary location,…

When interviewing a child it is necessary to ask appropriate questions that are age appropriate for the child.
