However, I found the emotional concept that individuals use to cope with these drivers that maybe present some difficulties with either individuals self concept or the socialitial acceptance to be interesting. One coping mechaise that has a stigma in itself is denial. Individuals including myself look at denial as a problematic approach however it can also be helpful to some individuals. Although I have never looked at denial as a good approach reading chaper 4 provided me a different interperation of denial. The illutsrtion the “Ego Psychology” uses is when a terminally ill person is dying but they are in denial, this coping mechanics is useful because this person is not allowing their mind to give into realtity.
