In the film Maleficent there were multiple symbols to chose from but the three that I had chosen were the spinning wheel, and the different colors that were in the movie; dark colors and then the bright and colorful ones. My first symbol was the spinning wheel that Aurora pricked her finger on, on her sixteenth birthday. I chose this symbol to show a more masculine symbol due the pointiness of the spindle. It shows that it is masculine because it is taking her away as if it was a man taking her away. A feminist might view this symbol as being forced into doing something that a women does not want to do; she is being forced to prick her finger and she has no control over her body at that moment in time.
