In regards to education, there are differences between a white man’s education and a black man’s education. According to Denisa R. Superville’s article, 59% of black men graduate from college and 80% of white men graduate from college nationally. In another article by S. Jay Olshansky it states that,”When race and education are combined, the disparity is even more striking. In 2008 white US men and women with 16 years or more of schooling had life expectancies far greater than black Americans with fewer than 12 years of education—14.2 years more for white men than black men.” From Olshansky’s quote we can start to analyze the differences between a black man’s education versus a white man’s education.

According to “Trends in Teen Pregnancy and Childbearing”, 39 births per 1000 adolescents were African American females and 18.6 births per 1000 adolescents were white females. African American females have a higher teen pregnancy rate compared to white females which can lead to a fast life history. In the same article it states that “At the family level, adolescents with mothers who gave birth as teens and/or whose mothers have only a high school degree are more likely to have a baby before age 20 than are teens whose mothers were older at their birth or who attended at least some college.” The social environment has a big impact on pregnancy because it is a learned behavior. When your surroundings model a certain behavior you are more likely to copy that behavior. Children born from teen moms are more likely to have a child as a teen. Teresa Wiltz said that “Poverty plays a big role in high teen birth rates, as does geography. Rural teens have higher rates of pregnancy than do urban and suburban teens. Because of these adjustments, they no longer can just focus on primary goals but the goals of their child and themselves. Both black and white females experience massive amounts of stress before they are ready but there are some differences the two ethnicities experience. White females usually get more help, support, and/or understanding from their families, which allows the teen more leniency to the responsibility of their child. On the other hand, black teens struggle with less support from their families and are forced to care for themselves and their child alone. This strife leads to a more stressful life and ultimately a fast life history
