To do this Dante's changes to Abbe Busoni, the priest. Abbe Busoni collects information about his father, Mercedes, Morrel, and just how he was betrayed. Edmond learns all the information he needed to verify who he needed to seek revenge on, paid Caderousse with a diamond, and left for Marseilles. Before Dantes can start his path to revenge, he has one last deed to perform. Dantes now changes to Lord Wilmore an Englishman who works for the head of Thomas and French. Dantes’s heart may be filled with hatred towards his enemies, but buying Morrell’s estate shows his kindness towards an old friend. Lord Wilmore also extends the date of his payment due for Morrel.
Sinbad the Sailor is the third character change by Dantes and is responsible for saving Morrell's life. A letter was delivered, showing his daughter the way to a bag of jewels and riches. The purse of jewels saved her father, but was not the only gift given to him. “The Pharon, the Pharon!,” (Dumas 130). Sinbad had built a ship that resembled the Pharon. This is the last gift given by Sinbad before the path of vengeance
