Since the 1500’s there have been changes in the Prairie landscape. These changes are due to the settlement of the prairies from European settlers around 1500. As the population increased, so did the demand for infrastructure and resources. Many forests were removed to make room for settlement and lumber used to build infrastructure. Grasslands were converted into croplands which resulted in changing climates in the prairie regions (Bell, T. J & Jacobs, J. D., 1998).…

The term “invention”, reminds me of the old age saying “necessity is the mother of invention” (unknown author). The chapter discusses how “classical invention” was a “rhetoric” that only highly educated, usually “speakers and writers” used to relay information to the public. Since most people of that time were labors and could not read or write, believed these scholars to have all the answers. Referring “to the means of discovering possible arguments, providing ‘speakers and writers with sets of instructions to help them fine proofs appropriate for any rhetorical situation’”…

It was into these troubled times that feudalism, a social and political system, emerged as a way to regain stability. Supporting it was an economic system called manorialism, which centered around self-sufficient estates called manors. Farmers worked the fields on the manor and were crucial to keeping it running, both through the work they did and the taxes they paid. Feudalism was an important part of the Middle Ages and would not have existed without the manor or the work of farmers.…

In his book “Debt, the first 5000 years”, David Graeber introduces us to a novel theory about the development of human relationships, money, commerce, and markets. The author himself has direct experience in Anthropology, although limited in comparison to other great ones in the field such as Claude Lévi-Strauss, he did study tribes in Madagascar and had other relevant first-hand encounters with the science. By making use of his past mentioned knowledge, but also by drawing parallel ideas and arguments encompassing the fields of Psychology, History and Economy, the author tries to prove the reader that debt, going by the meaning of a measurable obligation, is at the core of every human group, a phenomenon that appears naturally since the…
