Earnest Rutherford

Earnest Rutherford is a New Zealand born British physicist born on august 30, 1871 and died on October 19th 1937. He even won Nobel Prize in chemistry. In the year of 1907, Earnest Rutherford and his students, Hans Geiger and earnest Marsden, carried out the Geiger and Marsden experiment, which was an attempt to examine the structure of atoms. After the experiment was a success as it demonstrated the existence of the atomic nucleus. Rutherford’s model of the atom is a well-known symbol showed electrons circling around the nucleus like planets orbiting the sun. This symbol became popular and has been used by many organization around the world as a symbol on atoms.
