So, the airplane with the men still aboard returned immediately to Langley, and they returned home to Montana with the hostages still in Iran. But, it wasn’t until April 26th while watching the evening news; they realized why the CIA canceled their mission because as the broadcast continued they discovered an RH-53 helicopter struck the vertical stabilizer of an EC-130’s with its main rotor and crashed into the plane’s wing and the ensuing explosion killed eight servicemen. As soldiers and proud citizens of the United…

The British and French attempted to stop the United States from aiding the others while they were at war in 1803. So the U.S. had to deal with that inconvenience.…

Throughout history there have been countless examples of leader’s effective implementation of the mission command principles. Colonel Puller, an example of one such leader, was the Commander for the 1st Marine Regiment during the invasion and battle of Peleliu. Throughout the 7 days of fighting, he successfully demonstrated the principles of mission command through his use of: building cohesive teams through mutual trust, providing a clear commander’s intent, exercising disciplined initiative, and accepting prudent risk. Even though sustaining over 50 percent casualties in his regiment and having to withdraw from Peleliu he was successful in implementing the principles of mission command.…

My dilemma was which camp I should attend this summer. The choices were Boy Scout camp with my scout troop, or the CIT program at Camp Ockanickon. This was an excruciating decision, because I had a tremendous desire to attend both of these summer camps. But the weeks that they are in the summer overlap. This was an immense problem for the reason that they both offer things that are needed to help me later in life.…
The Great Bear Rainforest is a temperate rainforest of 6.4 million hectares, home to many rare and endangered species, as well as watersheds that provide the best salmon runs left in Canada. Unfortunately, the Great Bear Rainforest is under threat due to clearcutting and its effects on the environment. According to the David Suzuki Foundation, “30% of logging in the Great Bear Rainforest has been in watersheds since 2001”, meaning the water quality of that area has been affected. As for wildlife, deforestation is one of the leading causes of animal extinction in the world today. Due to the negative effects deforestation has on wildlife and watersheds, the acts of clearcutting in the Great Bear Rainforest must subside.…
