Opposite to altruistic, fatalistic suicides occurs when society restricted the individual too much. Such people were hopeless, because of the society’s norms. They could not achieve their dreams or ambitions due to the restricted nature of society. When their lives are remained under tight or rigid regulations, people commit suicide. Most people find it hard to liver under severe rules and regulations and also high expectations. These people who are forced to live under strict rules often feel that they have lost their self. Durkheim thought that this kind of suicides was more common during the historical periods than in the industrial period. Fatalistic suicide can be defined as the class of suicide by individual whose passion is blocked by oppressive discipline. The category of fatalistic suicide was constructed mainly for purposes of symmetry. Fatalistic suicide is the extreme opposite of anomic suicide. The individual feels an extreme repression from norms, rules and regulations and believes reality as unrewarding. The fatalistic suicide would typically occur when the individual completely subjected himself to rigid control and discipline. This is believed to be the rarest of all the suicidal
