Dunkin’ Donuts first franchise agreement was signed and executed in Worcester, Massachusetts, in 1955. Since then thousands of Dunkin’ Donuts shops have opened all over the world. As of 2013, there were 10,858 shops open Worldwide 3,181 of which are in other countries. In the first 5 years that Dunkin’ donuts was open 8 billion cups of coffee were sold. Dunkin’ Donuts first commercial aired on network TV in 1978 and now are well known for their popular slogan “America Runs on Dunkin’”.
