A few initial findings necessitate us as student leaders to act. Some of these findings are: (1) Administration has stepped in and hindered a returning graduate student from running for any council positions due to non-matriculation status in May. This proved to be an issue given that the bylaws of the student council didn’t specify the distinction. (2) Credit system changes at Wagner place dual degree students at a disadvantage when they return for their graduate studies financially and academically (degree requirement). (3) Systems around campus are identifying dual degree students as new students and requiring an erroneous amount of unnecessary actions related to first year students. However, students across the various dual degree programs across the university may perhaps be facing comparable or distinctive concerns. These concerns require further investigation and data collection prior to making any recommendations for improvement. I am working with a few students and an administrator at Wagner to compile data on dual degree programs focusing on Academic, Financial, and Social policies and practices. We are currently focused on Wagner but would like to have similar data across all programs so that we can make university wide
