Dry Run Exam
In every form of science, a background criteria is needed to form any sort of discovery, experiment, paper, etc. The criteria that is used is known as the Scientific Method. Though International Relations (IR) does not sound like it falls under the category of “science,” it is still considered a form of science because it studies a specific category and is often broken down using the Scientific Method. In this paper the scientific method will be explained and how it can be used in a given situation. Each section of the scientific method will be looked at and each step will be explained thoroughly. The Scientific Method has 4 sections of work; first, a theory is created to give an explanation of why the …show more content…
Most often these stories are neither true nor false. It is essentially the most important part of the scientific method because that is what the experiment and tests are based off of. These theories must be complete in the sense that one is able to test its information and create a complete explanation of the gathered data. To be a scientific theory, it must be able to be proved with legit, observable facts. In IR, when you come up with a theory, it has to be proved with facts from history. One example of the scientific method is the story of Aristotle and his geocentric theory. In this theory Aristotle and Ptolemy proposed that the Earth was the center of the Universe. The Crystalline spheres, which in ancient times was transparent sphere that lied in the heavens, were the other planets, moon and sun. He proposed that they circled the Earth in a Celestial circular motion. The stars were said to be fixed objects that moved in a Terrestrial linear motion. But like it can happen with any hypothesis, this was continually proved wrong over time. One example is Galileo’s discovery of Jupiter’s moons waxing and waning around it. This shows that though a theory may seem correct, many times they can be disproved by continued research and
