There are many strengths I can bring that will assist me in achieving my professional cardiovascular goals. My first strength is teamwork. Teamwork is unity, cooperation, equality, communication, and hard-work. This was a concept I learned in high school with student council, prom committee, and yearbook. Oftentimes we used teamwork to solve problems and disputes and we used the power of each other to always get things done.…
The five greatest strengths shown to me by the Strengthsfinder Survey were Consistency, Belief, Responsibility, Developer, and Relator. I chose a life of Civil Service, in the Military and now as a Police Officer. Having Consistency and Responsibility I believe fit right into this life choice and in my opinion if you don't have Belief in what you're doing you shouldn’t be doing it in the first place. I utilize Consistency on a daily basis as a Police Officer. I wholeheartedly believe each individual has the right to be treated fairly and on equal ground to anyone else regardless of social, economic or criminal justice standings.…
Self-awareness – I practice this everyday! I learn from my failures and always look for ways to improve. 2. Motivation – I am good at keeping the momentum going and generating enthusiasm. I love to push people to reach their maximum potential.…
Upon completing the StrengthsFinder survey, it is determined my 5 greatest strengths are the learner, achiever, competition, strategic, and relator, all of which I expected (Clifton, Anderson, & Schreiner, 2006). While reading the text I examined the various themes of different strengths, relating closely to the 5 assigned by the survey, I am impressed by how well the explanations were written in the book, Strengths Quest Second Edition. The text in correlation with the materials provided from the StrengthsFinder survey brought forth meaning and depth into finding out exactly the type of person I am. Learning is listed as my top strength in the survey (Clifton, Anderson, & Schreiner, 2006). I believe I have used that trait extensively throughout…
The strengths that I have acquired through high school are persistence, endurance, and work ethic. In high school I have always been persistent to keep my grade up and made it my goal to be on the honor roll. Freshman year I was able to make it to second honors, which is to have quarter grades no lower than a C. I persisted myself to make it to first honors (no grade lower than a B-). Towards the end of my sophomore year I achieved my goal. I persisted to make it to principal’s list junior and senior year.…
Reflections on StrengthsFinder As I have mentioned above, that achiever, strategic, learner, belief, and responsibility are my top five themes as revealed by StrengthsFinder Assessment According to Rath (2007), the StrengthsFinder develop 34 most common talents based on Gallup's 40-year study about human strengths. In addition, this assessment has been translated into 20 languages and has been completed by 10 million people and more than 100 nations around the world (Rath, 2007). The Clifton StrengthsFinder measures the presence of talent in 34 categories called "themes" that were determined by Gallup as those that most consistently predict outstanding performance.…
Before I took the StrengthsQuest test, I had no idea what my strengths would be. After taking the StrengthsQuest test, my five strengths ended up describing me as things I never saw myself as. This test described my strengths as an activator, a relator, a communicator, an empathetic person, as well as saying that I adapt very well. I can agree with StrengthsQuest that I am these five things.…
The Success Profiler showed some aspects of myself that I had no idea about. The main parts that are focused from the personal skills map is decision making, time management, sales orientation, and physical wellness. My lowest personal skill would have to be decision making because of how I act when I am put to a decision making position. When I am asked to make a decision I tend to take a long time an example of this is creating a wish list I look into all possible items and combinations.…
When I was a child when someone asked me, "What are you going to be when you grow up?" My answer was always, "I am going to be a nurse. " When I attended college the first time, my answer became, "I 'm not sure what I want to be." Right out of high school making the decision of what you are going to do for the rest of your life is scary, so I juggled back and forth from teaching and nursing. I eventually decided to take a break for a while until I knew what I needed to do.…
Reading the Strength Finders 2.0 book and taking the assessment was a very beneficial experience. It allowed me to not only learn more about myself and the characteristics that make me unique but also how to use these characteristics to my advantage. While I was not surprised by the five strengths that were selected, this assessment allowed me to learn more about my strengths, how I am using them today and how I will use them in the future. After taking the Clifton Strengths assessment and submitting my responses, the results showed that my top five strengths were competition, empathy, individualization, futuristic, and relator. Discovering that competition was my top strength was no surprise to me simply because of my background in athletics.…
I would say I rely on all three of these strengths every day and find myself using at least one of them in almost all situations I face. I think all three strengths are beneficial to my cognitive, behavioral and emotional health, but I would say my behavioral health is benefited more by kindness and generosity, my emotional health is benefited more by gratitude and my cognitive health is benefited more by humor and playfulness. Your Top Strength…
Personal Strengths Inventory This strength assessment is very accurate and confirms strengths that I already recognized about myself. My first strength is connectedness. I believe that the strength of connectedness centers on people, your interactions and relationships with them, and how those moments affect your life and the lives of those around you. My second strength is adaptability. Adaptability is the ability to move from task-to-task quickly without becoming disorganized and frustrated.…
Overall, my definition of success is the continuous journey in obtaining the personal goals I set out to achieve. In my world, this definition is raising my boys to be God fearing men, being a caring and results oriented leader, receiving my Master’s Degree, and being a genuine person with integrity to all those in my life. It’s also everything else in between and along the way of life’s journey. In essence, I want my success to leave an imprint of making people’s lives better for knowing…
After looking through the inventories and the feedback I had received about my communication skills, I have found some communication skills I am quite effective at and some I should work on a little bit. My strengths seem to be listening, seeming alert, and being empathetic. People who gave me feedback said that they felt good when they spoke to me because they knew I was truly listening to their messages. I seemed alert by making eye contact, asking questions, and having a polite mannerism.…
Strengths Looking at my strengths, I am a very conscientious person. I believe that this has helped me do my work in a more disciplined way in terms of sticking to the appropriate deadlines and punctuality in my work. I am competitive and this makes me focused on my goals as…
