In the book Of Mice and Men the importance dreams bring throughout this story can be a big one depending on how you look at it, every way has a different potential. Consider your dreams and how they affect your day to day living.
“We’ll have a big vegetable patch and a rabbit hutch and chickens. And when it rains in the winter, we won't work, but we’ll build up a fire in the stove and set around it an’ listen to the rain comin’ down on the roof.” (Steinbeck 14) This is one example that shows how the men want to use up their days and money, not working for another man but for themselves, being able to work whenever and stop whenever. This is what Lennie and George see in their future and this is what they are working for. To achieve the impossible no matter how far it seems it never hurts to think about the things in life you want and could potentially have as long as there is that dream there is always a little bit of hope. When they had them previews I coulda went to them, an’ spoke in the radio, an’ it wouldn’ta cost me a cent because I was in the pitcher.” (Steinbeck 89) Another way to interpret a dream is to think fondly of the things you wish you had not the things you have now but you want things to be different, to be better, may be if they were you could have more confidence, more everything just because your lifestyle is better, but because of how it is you can only dream of a different
