Then Harker takes a shovel and strikes Dracula with the edge on the head. But soon after Harker writes in his journal “the sight seemed to paralyse me... the shovel fell from my hand across the box… but my brain seemed on fire… I ran from the place and gained my room” (Stocker, 44).
