It ought to be possible, in short, for every American to enjoy the privileges of being American without regard of his race or his color.” It’s been nearly 100 years since slavery was abolish from the United States. But wasn’t it the end of discrimination against a color person? Even after 100 years, slavery became inequality against color people and forced to live in harsh conditions and limited to rights. King speech should be considered one of the greatest in American history is because the hard times that he and his people experienced during the segregation era. So finally black were freed from slavery, but now that will face hate crimes from the white race. Whites didn’t see black as been in the same level as them. So they started to built new laws that would separate the races. Groups were started to build up to kill black or prevent them from becoming successful or be part of any political actions. Public place was divided into black areas or white. Any facility designated to black were always in bad or horrible conditions. White felt they were superior to the black race. For example, blacks were not allowed to sit in front of the bus and if there was not seat available they had to give it up to the white person and if they refused that would’ve been imprison. So this sicken Mr. King of seen his people suffer year after year. He had fed up the unfairness and started to protest against inequality and hate crimes. That’s when he started the Civil Right Movement in hoping to end segregation and hate crimes against his fellow brothers and sisters. Eventually giving him the spirit and motivation to write his famous to be speech “I Have a Dream”.
