The book is Based on a life of Gabi, a Mexican American girl who lives in Southern California. It’s funny, sad, honest, raw, bold, and hopeful. The book that I decided to read this summer was called “Wonder” written by R.J Palacio. The reason I chose this book was because I thought the picture on the cover was pretty interesting. It stood out to me, like as if it were saying to read it. When I read it I found that it was an inspirational story about a little 10 year old boy named August. All he wanted to be was to be like everyone else, to be what he called “normal”.…

While I’ve read a plethora of renowned novels in class, I’ve limited myself to the three I relished above all. My absolute favorite book (play in the form of a book) from this past year was Shakespeare’s Hamlet. An untraditional story of treason, madness, and enough literary devices to keep any reader engaged. Second, The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald was a masterpiece. An intricate story layered with symbolism, metaphors, and profound character development resulted in a book that carry on the legacy of a writer that wasn’t appreciated during his time.…
