The election of Donald Trump as the 45th US president has left an uncertain future for the IT service sector. While it is too early to analyze the effects of Trump’s protectionist policies, the IT world remains apprehensive partly due to Trump’s anti-trade campaign rhetoric. “With the value of IT-related exports now surpassing $100 Billion annually,” Arup Roy, an analyst at Gartner argues that if Trump’s campaign promise transpires, the IT industry, particularly Indian companies will face a dampening effect on growth prospects.
The newly elected president promises to take a tougher stance on offshore service companies. While this legislation would have a worldwide impact, this is a major problem for the traditional Indian-dominated offshore
