With the establishment of the legendary ‘Don the Beachcomber’ in Hollywood, L.A in the early part of the last century, Polynesian themes arrived in style. This amazing new spot was the first Polynesian-themed bar and restaurant in America and proved to be an instant hit. Its success spawned several copycats and soon the Polynesian theme named ‘Tiki’ culture spread across the world. That was back in the 1930s-40s, the trend like all others soon died out. Back to the 2000s, the Tiki culture has seen a new birth and is again catching up with the masses. But this time, it is more on a private basis as enthusiasts are designing their own homes in Tiki fashion. One of the most popular results of this new found love for Polynesia is Tiki huts.
