In situations with women they now must be cautious of things that could become inappropriate and with men they would have to interpret their gestures and know when and who it was deemed appropriate to use them with. Another challenge would be in the bathrooms. As women, they had been familiar with private stalls and isolated areas. In men's bathroom, privacy was reduced to the open space for urinals and smaller numbers of stalls.
As for their work experience two thirds of the transmen had benefited from the maleness. They would have an increase in workplace authority, recognized competence, and they would be rewarded for hard work. Their comments would become more valued and people want their feedback. Some men would not be hired as a woman but after being viewed as a man, they would get the position. As men, they were more likely to getting rewarded in their career and unwanted sexual advances and comments were stopped. Many of the transmen interviewed received a salary
