I look nervously outside noticing the black that has ascended over my yard. I hate being alone at night, there’s something so creepy about knowing that if someone were standing in my yard staring at me, I would never see them.
The ringing of the phone distracts me just briefly, who could that possibly be at ten o'clock? Slowly, I make my way over to the desk where the phone sits, "Hello?" No answer. "Hello . . . Hello?!"
Just as I was about to hang up a man's voice chuckled on the other side. Before I had a chance to respond there was a click and then, nothing. Nothing but dead air. I try to laugh it off, it didn’t mean anything, just some weirdo playing a sick joke.
I return to watching TV wondering how much longer it will be before my family returns home from my brothers' hockey game. They should be home by now... How long ago did mom call me?
As the dog begins barking I breathe a sigh of relief, they're home. Why does Bruiser sound like that though? That sounds like his strangers bark. I peek through the blinds just in time to see a man in dark clothes pull out a gun and shoot my dog. I stand there frozen in fear for a moment before running full speed up the stairs and into my brother's room taking refuge in his closet. The female padded quickly across the frost bitten plains, her paws occasionally skidding across small pools of ice. Her black fur clashed harshly with the brown and tan of the surrounding blades of long, springing grass. Slowing her pace, she rounded a nearby bend that led between two collapsed stones with the scent of old prey. Dropping her head, she sniffed about the area. A quick climb here, a twist there and she had managed to follow the trail.…

It seemed as if the whole town was asleep ,and each street longer than the next, in the pitch black of night. We knew differently of course, for whomever was on the street for which we were headed must have been awake at some point or another. Finally, we pulled up to the alleged place of suspicion. It didn’t look like much, just a modest cottage fit for a small amount of people. Dim light was coming from the cottage, indicating that someone was stirring.…

It was a Fourth of July and my neighbors and I shot off fireworks, before I knew it, I was racing inside to get the phone, my heart was pounding vigorously fast and hard, and I was already out of breath. I felt my hands tightly grasp around the house phone, my fingers struggling to dial 911. Then I heard a man on the other end of the phone asking what was incorrect and all I could say was “help there is a fire!” Then my fingers clicked the red button to end the call. The moment I wake, I know that someone has been in my room again. The first clue is the cold draft from the open window, and the second is the fact there's another white rose on my bedside table. He certainly hadn't wasted any time after the Agent Callaway's visit, that's for sure. I flip on the lamp on my bedside table and toss the rose in the garbage. I know Callaway would want me to keep it for evidence, but I don't think I can stand to look at it for any longer than five seconds.…

Well, I went to Sick Boss at the Lido. I first passed Chris 's place, and detected some light, very faint, and, anyway, I have no way of knowing if he indeed still resides there. I know that if he sighted me his conspiratorial mind would immediately jump to extreme ideas. But this only dilutes my message and intention with negativity; the reason I passed it is because I am interested in him, and hope he is well. Passing Chris 's necessarily means I overshot the Lido, consequently my arrival at the Lido came from the side I otherwise would not have come from.…
