Does Lawrence Use Soliloquy In Romeo And Juliet

Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare is a remarkable play, renowned for the fantastic tale it tells and the rich language the author uses. This piece of work paints a riveting story about two quarreling families, whose children, Romeo and Juliet, fall in fervent love with each other and go to great lengths to preserve their love. Unfortunately, the play ends with a tragedy in which the lovers die, and this is due to the failure to act according to every part of the elaborate plan that the trusted Friar Laurence has suggested they follow to be together. In the Act IV of the play, one of the main characters, Juliet, gives two very insightful speeches, a monologue spoken to Friar Laurence in Scene I and a soliloquy uttered alone in her chamber in Scene III. Though Juliet employs the literary device imagery differently and manifests different emotions in the monologue and soliloquy, she delivers the same message with the speeches, communicating that love is a powerful force that can trivialize many other relevant emotions. Since these speeches in Romeo and Juliet has such a vital message, the play serves as an excellent warning about love. By reading the play, people will be able to be aware of the fact that love can be dreadful and dangerous, not just warm and pleasant. With that knowledge, people will not be troubled by love and plunge into a tragedy just as Romeo and Juliet
