Advancement in technology in 2020 will demand existing staff members to update with new technology to provide competent care. Having a global license that allow nurses to practice in many nations with a core set of skills will provide future nurses with greater chances of employment through migration and travel. but at the same time it might create competition. As far this document is proposing the use of robotics to provide care to the clients and will take over jog of few nurses. It sounds interesting that how robots will take over some of the activities of nurses to combat with shortage of

With thisfacility I agree with them on the fact they want to put their employees into teams so theycan build onto their team skills. Although, I disagree with them choosing teams; in lifeyou don’t always get what you want, you’re eventually going to have to work with peopleyou don’t necessarily enjoy and it’s better off to show them now rather than wait. For Further StudyI would like to know how all these changes have bettered the facility and how it haseffected the relationships between the nurse assistant and the resident, but alsobetween nurse assistants. Zinn, Guglielmi, Davis, and Moses (2012) noted that the present shortage of registered nurses will grow to a staggering 1 million by the year 2020. With this being said, the need to attract, properly train, and retain nursing staff is crucial to the future of health care. It is well known among nurses that the first year working as a new nurse is one of the hardest. Jones-Bell, Halford-Cook, and Parker (2018) recognize that entry into practice is often described as difficult and conflicting between expectations and reality. Besides the incongruence between nursing education and nursing practice, the job itself is stressful and requires skills, confidence, and competence in order to deliver safe patient care.…

The IOM future of nursing, have made essential proposals for the nurses to attain higher education to remain viably important in the evolving health care reform. I would use this paper to examine my fitting into the IOM Future of Nursing suggestions. IOM recommendation 4 underscores on the need to, “increase the proportion of nurses with a baccalaureate degree to 80 percent by 2020” (Institute of Medicine [IOM], 2010, p. 12). By God’s abundant grace, I will be one of the nurses who will be fitting into this recommendation since, I am expecting to receive my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the Grand Canyon University (GCU) well before 2020. A question I have asked myself many times before enrolling into the BSN program is: do you really…

The questions nurses are faced with every day cannot be satisfied with a fill-in-the-blank answer. In a world that is constantly evolving and progressing technologically and scientifically, nursing is an irreplaceable major not to just Canada, but the world. Nurses maintain a humanistic side to medicine in a time where humans grow more independent on technological and mechanical advances. Take away nursing and you take away a part of what makes humans human. A Canada without nursing is a Canada without community, and a community is essential in the ability for the stronger to help the weak, a sense of responsibility over the collective, and the belief that every person deserves a chance to be healthy and…

According to Nursing Economics, 2014, the number of nurses that are employed by hospitals will continue to increase but the BLS estimates that by 2020, around 58% of nurses will be employed in hospitals compared to around 60% in 2010. This is due to the impact of ACA and that individuals who were previously uninsured will not need to use emergency services as much before because they can be treated in other settings. Also, we are seeing a growing desire for older people to stay at home and be cared for, thus nurses will play a key role in communities outside hospitals. Nurses in ambulatory care and home care services are expected to increase over the next several years. This is due to an anticipated increase use of ambulatory care services and home services because more individuals have insurance and have these options, it’s expected that it will have positive effects on patient’s overall health as well.…

The nursing profession is fortunate enough to hold an immeasurable amount of the public’s trust during their most vulnerable moments, in the hope of receiving optimal client centred care. A recent survey discovered that nurses are second to firefighters in a list of most trusted occupations (CNA, 2007). Moreover, nurses have the privilege of being in a self-regulated and self-governed profession. This means that the Canadian government believes that Ontario’s nursing regulatory body, College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO), is best qualified to appropriately define its own members’ norms of practice and boundaries (Schiller, 2014). It is incumbent upon nurses to continuously justify that they are deserving of this honour by delivering uncompromised…

Introduction There is no doubt that the world is constantly evolving as advanced technology, research, and discoveries are made on a regular basis. From a macrocosmic point of view, nursing in the modern age of today was not like it was one or five decades ago. During the era of Florence Nightingale, nursing as a whole placed greater emphasis on the biomedical model of illness as opposed to a holistic approach with concentrations on health promotion. Overtime, with an increase of nursing research and evidence-based care, nursing has revolutionized itself to fit the needs of our changing society and become a system that continuously promotes health and well-being in addition to the process of treating illness.…
