Do The Right Thing: A Short Story

After he let me inside, we sat on the couch for a little while and watched Spike Lee’s, Do the Right Thing. As Levi and I sat so close to one another, I felt his body heat. With the lights off and thoughts of Aunt Joyce’s nasty tape playing over and over inside of my head, all I wanted to do was the wrong thing. I really wanted to make a move, but I wasn’t sure of what to do. After thinking about it for a while, I decided to give it a shot.
“Hey, you never gave me a tour of your house.” “I’ll show you, but there isn’t much to see,” replied Levi, as he pulled me up off of the couch by my hand. As we walked down a short hallway, he opened a closed door at the end. “This is my old man’s room.” When I walked in, I saw an unmade bed, a nightstand littered with a variety of things, a black recliner, and a small television. The walls in the room were white and the carpet was beige. There wasn’t a smell in the room; it didn’t smell good or bad. I guess that you

I had never heard of some of the other groups though. The smell in Levi’s room was his own personal scent. If I could bottle the smell, I would take it with me so that I would never forget it. I laughed because I never imagined that Levi would listen to this kind of music.
“I didn’t know that you liked Bobby Brown.” I said. “I only listen to this song because it reminds me of you,” he replied, as he sat down on the bed beside me. After hearing that, I made my move on Levi. I leaned in and kissed his lips and from there things only got better. As Bobby Brown continued to sing about his Roni, our clothes ended up on the floor. Under the plaid blanket on Levi’s bed we got closer than close and I felt Levi’s skin against

As I walked down the hallway of the Memorial Union, I search for the staircase that will bring me to my haven for the next hour and a half. After I expressed worry to my friend that I would have nowhere to go during my long class breaks, she told me that Sparky’s Den is where she goes to hang out between classes. As I descended down the gray staircase, I pictured what the room would look like; with a name like Sparky’s Den, I saw a crowded room with dark brown wooden paneling on the walls, dim lighting, red, plush booths lining the walls, and gives off a sports bar atmosphere; you can imagine my surprise when I reached the bottom of the stairs and looked into a bland, white room with light brown finishes lining the walls with thirty-or-so tables and booths, and two long couches. As I walked through the opening in the room, I was hit with a cool blast of air. While the Memorial Union was cool, it was no match to the artic breeze of Sparky’s Den; as the cold air hit me, goosebumps rose all over my body.…

RE: Not So Snow White (Mr Quixotic & Aurelia) It was a blur of movement and sound. Every noise and vision, heightened by his drug and alcohol-addled senses, melded into one, and Preston, not usually a romantic, was unable to keep a toothy grin off his face. Despite the plethora of jiggling student boobs and twerking asses in the room, there was none more gorgeous than his dancing companion. And everyone else was so unexpectedly friendly.…
