For many years white males have been in charge of these huge companies and bringing in women or other races is not easy for people to accept. Naomi also talked about how many people are unconsciously bias against others meaning that how ones parent brought them up frames their view of the world. Our parents and grandparents grew up in a different world than what we live in now and sometimes-old beliefs that one race or gender is superior can be taught which creates unconscious bias. Through this lecture I learned that there are many groups considered diverse. There was the obvious groups like different races and genders but then she also informed us how people with disabilities fit into this group as well. She talked about the challenges of including people who have barriers and how our world doesn’t make it easy for people with disabilities to fit in. Some of the students in the class brought up how the fashion industry is trying to work with people with disabilities to make clothing for them, which will help to make their lives easier. One student informed us that there are only two clothing companies for people who have Down syndrome, which is great, but there is still more
