A song has to obtain a lot of plays in order for the artist to make enough money from it. Maybe even around hundreds or thousands of plays to get a significant amount of money. This could lead the artist to be hesitant experimenting with new sounds therefore, the diversity will be geared to the similar sounds of the popular music. More artists who want to make enough money would continue using the type of music they know their audience enjoys. People may enjoy listening and singing to a popular song. Furthermore, if every song sounded the same, many people would not enjoy listening to the less diverse music. Since music would be less diverse, the quality of music will not be as well as it used to be. The popular songs in the music industry will sound almost identical. The artists that will want to be able to make money will just stick with what they know is the financially safer way thus leading to the decline of variety in music. “Eventually, music could start to all sound the same.
