S The client is 5 year old male named Matthew. Matthew was born in China with a cleft lip and palate. While in China, Matthew had his cleft lip repaired first and later had his cleft palate repaired. Matthew was later adopted. He has a voice disorder and he demonstrates hyper nasality with nasal emissions. Matthew has had speech therapy before through private services. During the therapy Matthew was interactive, responsive, and talkative. He was also apprehensive because he does not know how to read.
O Matthew’s first goal was for him to engage in an oral mechanism exam. This goal was set so that the speech language pathologist could see if all function and mobility were normal. The speech language pathologist was able to check this by looking
