Discuss two things you already knew about diabetes?

Something we both learned is what type of diabetes she had, When I initially asked her she had told me type 2. However, when we got to the question about what medication she took, she told me she took insulin because her pancreas doesn’t produce enough insulin. Having read the end of chapter text about type 1 and type 2 diabetes. I realized she is actually a type 1 because she is more into late childhood than early adulthood and also because of the pancreas. I also learned of the genetic implication, I always thought that the reason she was worried about me getting diabetes was because we are family members in similar environments (and diets) not because genetically our family has had diabetes. Both my grandparents on my mother’s side had it and my grandma from my paternal side also had it. I however I’m not exactly sure what being a descendant from a diabetic parent means for my future (will I 100% get it or do I just need to be more careful)
