From this, story I would assume that the parents of this household are teaching racism, which to me seems like a huge problem, because now these kids are most likely to keep these views for the rest of their lives. Preceding the post World War period, undisguised discrimination against Mexican Americans had disseminated amongst the Southwest regions. Often classified as substandard to American society, individuals of Mexican ancestry were underrepresented as constituents in the board of jury. In Jackson County of Edna, Texas, for the last twenty-five years, any individual attached to distinctive indicators of Spanish heritage such as a Spanish surname were denied admittance into serving jury. Consequently, a lack of representation from peers in the court of law was demonstrated in the case of the accused, Pete Hernandez in the murder of Jose Espinosa in 1950. I have just learned about the incident regarding your unacceptable discrimination towards Mr. Green. I am concerned about the way you act towards African-Americans just because you think you’re allowed to. Dondré Green is a young African-American boy who just wanted to play golf, but he was denied his rights as a human in America and kicked out. Your establishment should allow Dondré to participate in his golfing career because he has a right to and you can’t take that right away from him. I realize that you may consider African-Americans to be lower class and a bad influence on your business, however, The Declaration of Independence says that “all men are created equal.”…

Slavery existed in Africa, but it was not the same form of slavery like which the Europeans introduced. The Europeans formed chattel slavery in which the slaves were treated like property and had no rights. Even though many African slaves help fight against the Britain for American Independence, the basic freedom stated in the Constitution did not applicable in their situation. The tension between the South and North over the issue of slavery grew as the South supported it and the North did not, which eventually led to the separation of the Union into the rebellious Confederacy and the Union. With the Confederacy's defeat and the end of the Civil War, Abraham Lincoln enacted the Emancipation Proclamation, which stated that all the slaves from the rebellious states are free.…

The sentence, “And you are not the guy and still you fit the description because there is only one guy who is always the guy fitting the description” is repeated. I think it’s repeated because the author want to remind us that there is always someone mistaken for the criminal. Everytime I read that sentence, I start to think deeper and and ask myself why is there always one other person that fits the criminal description? I learned in my American Government class that black people are the highest victims of stop and frisk.…

In the mid-nineteenth centuries it was the Native Americans who faced heavy discriminatory practices by the American people. The article begins by describing how when the Europeans came to America in 1769, there were more than 300,000 Natives that lived in the area we know today as California.…
