Endosseous dental implants have become a dependable and predictable method of replacing missing teeth to enhance patients’ quality of life. Clinicians are striving to further improve the patient implant treatment journey through minimizing the peri- and postsurgical discomfort, maximizing aesthetics, and improving the long-term success of the implants. In the following years, some case reports and studies have described various techniques for using minimally invasive approaches for implant placement.8-10 Predictable results including short term implant success rate and soft tissue outcome have been confirmed by some studies with this technique.8-12 In clinic, when the implant site with limited width of KM, minimally invasive flapless surgery seems more useful for obtaining adequate quantity circumferential closure of keratinized tissue around the emerging implant than punch technique. However, there was no randomized clinical trial to evaluate soft tissue response, crestal bone changes and patient subjective assessment between minimally invasive flapless surgery and traditional flap surgery in selected and appropriately planned cases.
