Going back to the title the dinosaur can be a symbol of extinction or bringing the past into the present. However, the author wants the audience to see how the dinosaur means clutching onto big childhood aspirations. Furthermore, hugging it tight and protecting it so it does not become extinct and just something one reads about in the past. The audience can see that black boy holding the gun as if he has no time for dreams and therefore cannot worry about those kinds of thing. In the line where the author writes, “no one kills the black boy.…

Upon first glance the princess bride may seem like just another “hero-saves-the-girl-and-helps-all-his-friends-achieve-their-goals” type of story, which it is. However what the book and movie both accomplish is to recognize the irony in itself. The book is basically a “Book within a book” and the movie is “A book within a movie”. Both of them achieve their goal in showing this. The book starts with a boy being read a book, his grandfather stops reading because he sees that his grandson is fading.…

In the article, Gould presents that science is considered allowing humans to be able to know and gain knowledge. In “Sex, Drugs, Disasters and the Extinction of Dinosaurs,” Gould begins to state the question of why dinosaurs became extinct and what possible causes could relate to the non-existence of the dinosaurs. The first theory that Gould contemplated for the extinction of dinosaurs could be caused by the sex hypothesis. Gould believed that this theory caused the non-existence of dinosaurs because testes can only perform in certain conditions.…

In the genre of science fiction, authors and directors create new worlds of fantastic possibilities. Some of these worlds take place in our future, theorizing about things that are to come, while others take us to galaxies far, far away. Regardless of where or when the story takes place, particular conventions are always certain. One such convention is that when a new technology is central to the plot, the technology will cause harm. Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan demonstrates this through the building of the Genesis project, Jurassic Park through the revival of dinosaurs, and I, Robot through the creation of robots and the “three laws”.…

I quickly learned to search for books that dealt with topics that would help children cope with the challenges and difficulties of life to add to our collection.…
