The movie I decided to analyze for this assignment is Blood In Blood Out. This movie is about two Latino brothers, Cruz and Paco, and their cousin, Miclo, who is half white and half Latino, and how their lives are affected by the pact they have to always stick together and fight for each other. Later on in the movie the guys are separated after many conflicts they encountered between each other and with others. Cruz turns to drugs, Paco becomes a detective, and Miclo goes to prison. There are many different forms of communication and relationships between the characters, and there is also a great amount of conflict, which is why I chose this movie.…
It’s Not Always About Colour was written on February 5 2005 in Toronto by Morgan Campbell, who was in the “white” school system for 13 years in Mississauga, the article is about how black students approach their education. He said that it wasn't racism that contributed to their bad grades it was their attitude. The author also said that many were peer pressured and bullied into thinking that if they did well that were “whitewashed” or forced to choose between good grades or ethnic identity. It’s sad that at that time if you were black you weren't expected to have good grades when everyone should be expected of the same thing.…

I agree with you that every culture has a unique quality, especially with nonverbal communication. I recently took care of a Hispanic patient and one of the family members explain more about some of their cultural interactions and the proper way to communicate with the patient. This conversation made me realize that we do not think about our own behaviors or mindful of the differences in the ways other cultures interact. In the Hispanic culture, eye contact is considered rude and disrespectful. Verbal and nonverbal communication is learned behavior and difficulties arises when individuals do not communicate in a way that is prescribed by the culture (Giger & Davidhizar, 2013).…

The author also understands that knowing the…
Issues – first section: Before continuing onwards, it is important to understand the definition of the term ‘culture’ since understanding about culture and being knowledgeable about cultural differences between countries could be helpful in solving the issues that were faced in the case of Stephen Shawler. Culture is an extremely complex topic since it cannot be defined in a single definition and in general, culture can be termed as “a set of socially constructed meanings that shape the behaviour of people in a particular society” (Francesco & Gold 2005, p. 18). In addition, cultural difference exists in the world because people have different perspectives of viewing traditions, beliefs, norms and different methods of expressing personalities…
I think cultural differences are an important part of non-verbal communication. There are many gestures and expressions that are commonly practiced in one culture, that may be offensive in another. Diverse standards in regards to the proper level of assertiveness in communicating can add to cultural differences. The textbook signals that leaders must avoid becoming defensive and should try to understand how the other person perceives the situation. Defensiveness can “hurt the entire team or organization because it includes a tendency to place blame, categorize others as morally good or bad, and generally question others’ motives” (Hughes, Ginnett, and Curphy, p. 291).…
3.1 Careers between Monochromatic and Polychromatic Different works may fit with different employees, while polychromatism behave better in some polychronic works. The “polychronicity” was first used by Hall (1959) to imply a preference for performing multiple activities within the same time block. There are all kinds of works of the business, when it comes to some polychronic works, whose employees should have a ability to take different order at the same time, such as telephone operators, product salesmans or a retail employee. A monochromatism would rather to put off beginning a task before they have an adequate time to complete it (Kaufman-Scarborough and Lindquist 1999).…
The downfall for many organizations is the incompetence to be able to understand the differences between cultures and wanting to promote a cross-cultural program. To promote interaction between different cultures has its advantages but takes a great amount of time and research (Barker). Not having a cross-cultural understanding will inhibit companies from being able to compete with their competition due to being unaware of other cultural differences around the world. Cross-cultural communication is no longer an option to choose to participate in companies to communicate with other individuals it is now a requirement for companies to create a program to diversify its employees to stay above the competition (Zofi).…

The cross cultural communication started due to the advancements in economic growth and technological developments which led to breaking down of cultural barriers as businesses looked for ways to expand and seek foreign markets. This was so as companies had to cope with the new set of dynamic issues as they considered the global market (Walker, D. et al, 2003, pp.4). As a result, language training was initiated so as to overcome the cultural barriers and this has led to a demand for these languages and in turn educational institutions have been forced to incorporate intercultural understanding and knowledge into their curriculums.
