Kennedy became the 35th and youngest President to ever be elected in the history of the United States. Along with being the youngest, he also became the first Roman Catholic to ever hold that office (“John F. Kennedy” The White House). He was born into one of America’s wealthiest families, had an elite education, and was considered a military hero. This all led up to his short-lived presidency. As President of the United States, Kennedy dealt with Cold War tensions in Cuba, Vietnam, and other places. Like any other president, Kennedy had his fair share of non-supporters. On November 22 1963 Kennedy was assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald in Dallas, Texas while riding in his car (“John F. Kennedy was aggressive when it came to any competition. Being in a Presidential election means tough competition so it makes sense that most presidents are competitive. To become president one must have to constantly be striving to be the best they can be and beat out their opponents. Kennedy’s sister, Eunice, said that Kennedy had always been competitive from what she could remember.
