One of the main differences between the House and the Senate include the Constitutional Powers. Opposed the Senate the House Initiates all revenue bills as well as initiating articles of impeachment. The Senate however, gives consent to treaties and to chief presidential appointments. The Senate also tries impeached officials. Another difference between the House and Senate is the structure. The house consists of 435 members with a two-year term, opposed to the Senate which has 100 members with a six-year term. The House which is more formal and also has more hierarchically organized and stronger in leadership opposed the Senate which is less formal and less hierarchically organized, ultimately being weaker in leadership.
