-Giraffe’s long neck is one example of natural selection. In a population of giraffe-like animals, the length of their neck varied. In an environment with trees and bushes, giraffes with longer necks are able to reach the trees to eat much easier than giraffes with short-necks. Therefore, long-necked giraffes adapted better and are able to compete easier for nutrients than their short-necked relatives. This results in giraffes that has a longer neck to live longer, and therefore reproduce more offspring than giraffes that has a shorter neck.
