There are two main components of operant conditioning which is reinforcement and punishment. Reinforcement is more like you do something again where punishment makes it less likely.Reinforcement and punishment can be positive or negative but it doesn’t mean it can be bad. Positive means the addition of the stimulus, like getting dessert after finishing your vegetables and negative means removal of stimulus. For example, not getting homework since you did well in your exams. An example of operant conditioning, after eating dinner with your family you clean the dining table and wash the dishes. When you done your mum gives you a big hug and says thank you for helping me. In this situation your mum’s responses as a positive reinforcement and it will make you more likely to repeat the same thing. Operant Conditioning are everywhere in our daily life. There are many things we do that haven’t been influence at some point but operant conditioning.
