Dick Fosbury's Competitors

Dick Fosbury is a man who won numerous awards, obtained many accolades, and surpassed a multitude of career milestones. Despite this all, he is most known for forever innovating the way the high jump is performed. Before Fosbury, the typical high jumper would invert, contort, and maneuver their body in a manner which was difficult along with attempting to elevate over a bar. When Fosbury introduced this new technique, he instantly experienced tremendous results. He went from being a dismal jumper to a dominant competitor. Because he had the bravery and courage to attempt a style different from the typical athlete,his name will live on in history as the man who revolutionized high jumping.
