The first death is when our body does not function any longer. The second, is when we are returned to the ground and are remembered, relating to the land of the remembered in the movie. The third and final death, happens when no one remembers you any longer, or shown by the land of the forgotten in the movie. So, as you can see, they are both similar in some ways if not all.
The Book of Life is a movie that is meant to entertain rather than give us information on the day of the dead. Rather than giving us a general overlook of the entire day and an entire ethnic group, it only shows us the celebration from the view of one family. The perception that only some races are guilty of racism is flawed and ironically in itself racist. Racism is an inherent part of the human persona, and has plagued human society since the beginning of civilization. In “Models of American Ethnic Relations”, George Frederickson discusses four distinct models of ethnic relations: cultural pluralism, one-way assimilation, group separatism, and ethnic hierarchy. In the cases of the film “Crash” and the passage “From Rez Life”, this perception of racism within models in ethnic relations is acknowledged and analyzed with some similarities between the two works, however there are also some differences in the portrayal of relationships between American ethnic relations and racism. One similarity between…

Death is the end, or is it? Death means something and represents something different to almost every single person and culture in the world. To some death represents the end of a life, which some see as necessary while others are scared of it and revere it, to others it represents an actual figure like the grim reaper and to others such as the ancient romans and greeks it represents an actual god such as Thanatos, Hades or Pluto. This variation of views on death is common throughout history and it is no different in the two plays I am about to write about. In this paper I will explain what death means in each play in contrast with what it means in the other, those two plays are Death of a Salesman and Fences.…

Deena J. Gonzalez’s essay and Rolando J. Romero’s essay concern themselves with similar topics, but each one has a different approach to delivering their arguments and organizing their ideas. While Gonzalez takes a more individual approach to analyzing the truth behind Malinche, Romero compares her to La Virgen de Guadalupe. Both of these writers take an approach that sees Malinche as someone who got the short end of the stick. In Gonzalez’s essay, “Malinche Triangulated, Historically Speaking,” she argues that the popular portrayal of Malinche is completely imagined in that she is unreal, much like the Disney Pocahontas movie where very little is based on the reality.…
