Living in an African American, poverty-stricken community surrounded by negativity was challenging. Teen pregnancy, high crime-rate, and drug trafficking considered the norm. I survived it all. The focus of this developmental analysis is to look at the effects of my childhood to my current journey. I will never forget my parents love and dedication. All the opportunities, guidance and prayers blessed upon my life. My parents structure not only guided my life moreover, it shaped my future. Of course, your environment and peers play a major cause of the decision-making, however; parents initially set the tone for your future.
