Descriptive Essay Ray The Millionaire

Ray, the Millionaire One Thursday morning I woke up thinking about catching some crappy underneath the Highway 221 Bridge at Lake Greenwood. The longer I entertained this idea, the stronger of a pull that fishing lake had on me. Before I knew it, I had cancelled my appointments for the day. The next thing I knew I was headed down the highway with a boat pushing me on down the road. Well it was only about an hour drive and by 9am I was sitting under that very bridge on Highway 221. You know I have always been told not to fish for crappy in the heat of the day but I found out that during the hottest part of the day, these fish assemble together under them shady places. This was obviously a great day to be fishing. It had only been about …show more content…
I would tell Him how much I love Him and then I would snag another one. I was telling the Lord that I would do anything for Him and then lookout…there was something on the line. That last little part of that last statement just might be what pushed me over into this story. Right after I said that to the Lord, my little phone rang and I answered it. A gentleman said, “Mr. Henderson, this is Ray. You did a job for us several years ago and now I am in desperate need of an electrician.” I couldn’t hardly talk to him because I was still fishing. I had the phone pressed up against my ear using my shoulder and as we were talking, I started reeling in another one. I really tried to sound concerned and said, “That’s great.” I learned that was not such a great statement to make because he stated, “What do you mean that is great? We have a problem and I am in desperate need of an electrician.” I responded, “Sir, I am sorry and have to admit to you that I am down here at Lake Greenwood fishing.” The gentleman on the phone said, “Listen, this is a serious matter.” We have just had one of our employees get electrocuted after touching a metal door on one of those relocation trailers and we need your help yesterday! We need your help quick, like yesterday! We need you to come on!” My heart just sank. I had already let me only employee at that time off for the day and there was no …show more content…
He told me he would be sitting in his truck at my shop. We soon arrived at the customer’s facility and we drive up to the relocation trailer. One of Ray’s employees saw me drive up in my work truck and told me he would go round Ray up for me. In just a few minutes, Ray came walking up and had headphones in his ears and a walkie-talkie in his hand. Ray was trying to have a conversation on the phone with his ear piece and talking on the walkie-talkie all at once. I looked in his eyes and I saw a storm. Ray began rather abruptly, “Bill, it is this trailer right here. This is the one that knocked down one of my employees. When they touched this metal door it put him on the ground. Let me know if you find anything.” Then quickly, Ray was gone. It only took a short while to straighten out the cross neutral feeder going to the hot feeder. Someone had put a hot wire on the neutral and put the neutral wire on the hot; therefore, it made the entire chassis of that trailer energized. After we buttoned everything up, we went back to the office where Ray was supposed to be. I walked into the front and there were 2 receptionists, one on the right and one on the left. There was a nice little walkway through the middle. One of the nice ladies asked me, “Can I help you?” I replied, “Ray is expecting me” and I started to walk on through

Up in the North woods, where the wolves howl and the bucks run wild, there lives a man who devotes his life to living off the land. This man, Jerry Saum, a crude and renegade type character, has lived in Saum, Minnesota for his whole life. Saum, MN lies 45 miles directly North of Bemidji, and two miles East of the Red Lake Indian Reservation. I have known Jerry Saum for five years, due to my deer hunting shack that sits four miles South of Saum. In my early years deer hunting up North, Jerry would frequently come down to the cabin, always wearing a Busch Light sweatshirt or the local Saum Fire Department crewneck.…

It all began during the summer of 2015. I had just taken my beat- up fossil of a john- boat off of Gun Lake to fish in a different lake, and were going to put it back on Gun Lake at my grandparent’s house. After rinsing the multitude of worm guts and dirt out of it, we were going to put it back into the lake. My grandparent’s neighbor, Hal, got the chance to come along with me. We vaulted into what we called the “Rhino”, a quad equipped with a driver’s and passenger’s seat.…

The thing that sets me apart from other applicants is my commitment to the goals that I set for myself. In june of 2016, right after school ended for summer, my friend and I set a goal that, by the end of summer, we would catch a tiger muskie. We spent the beginning of summer searching through garage sales and thrift shops for all the necessary materials. We lost many afternoons repairing his 12 foot fiberglass dinghy just so we could have a chance at catching this elusive fish. After all this work and preparation it was early august and we both decided it was time to finally throw a line in the water.…
