Personal Narrative Essay: A Walk In The Woods

Improved Essays
It was a friday after school, I rode the bus home. When I got into my house, I was hungry so I made myself some scrambled eggs. I went outside to take a hike into the woods because I lived on the countryside. As I walked into the woods, I picked up some sticks and threw the sticks. While I was picking up another stick, I saw a waterfall I have never seen before. I walked over to the waterfall and put my hand into the stream where it fell off of the edge of the river. I started to notice that the sky was starting to grey, like there was a war going on. The very next second I heard as if someone had fell into the river, I ran over knowing that someone may had fallen into the river. The river was turning from a glimmery, shiny blue, into a dark …show more content…
Dad looked up and seen the harp, he pulled his pistol out and shot the harp. The bullet ricochet off the harp and there was no hole in the harp as if it was a solid piece of rock. As we got to the harp, I felt the strings, it was like touching wires. I looked back into the stream and saw a big bag land right next to the harp. I unzipped the bag, and in it there was ammo and 2 m4a1’s there were grenades and smoke grenades. Dad touched the strings and another big bag came out of the waterfall, and in this bag was stuffed packages of ashes, each bag has its own name on it. We went into the woods and looked for sticks and brush, we made it back to the harp and it's starting to get dark out. We made a tipi and filled it with brush and sticks, we took a rock and stood far from it, we shot the rock and it sparked and the brush and sticks went into big flames. We walked over and dad and I touched the harp together and this time a very big bag came out of the fall, inside the bag there were sleeping bags and a big tent, we put the tent up and put the sleeping bags in and everytime we touched the harp it would lead to another clue. We put the bags of ashes into the sleeping bags and same with all the other

Ever since my first backpacking trip 6 years ago, I’ve had an affinity for the Appalachian Trail. I’m constantly looking for excuses to mash our lives into the giant, 50 liter bags, and hit the trail for a few days. This past year, in early fall, I convinced my parents to don their sturdy boots and disappear into the wilds of bear state park with me for three days. We were dropped off at the top of Bear Mountain and, while my parents argued over directions, I wandered around the windswept ridge.…

I took a hike on the High Acres nature path, with my Mom, Sister and golden retriever, Tobey. When I first entered the trail, the path started really wide and began to get narrower. Along both sides of the trail were big tall weeds hanging over and rubbing against you. When we were getting close to the pond you could hear the different types of birds chirping, grasshoppers clicking, and bullfrogs croaking. We approached our first intersection, and decided to go left on to the old, white, wooden bridge.…

What I believed to be the cold dead hands of the grim reaper plucked me off the ground and dragged me up the hill. A light much brighter than a million suns filled my eyes, and I heard someone with a formal voice call my name. To keep the light out of my eyes I kept them close passing back out and waking up when the carriage I was in ran over a rock in the middle of the dirt road. Samuel and Julia were siting across from me or at least I thought I saw them until Julia blew a cloud of green specks that sparkled like stairs into my face. The specks traveled up my nose and down my throat causing me to fall back to sleep.…

My experience with the after school book club at Madison Elementary today was an exciting yet my patience was tested by a seven year old little boy named Jose. Today I was excited to see if my group would enjoy the book, “Where the Wild Things Are,” due to the fact everyone agreed they enjoy reading adventure books. Consequently, one of my group members, Jose, had already read the book and watched the movie and let the whole group know it was “boring.” Already bored he instantly lost interest in the book and the group and was making it known by distracting the other group members around him. Usually his partner in crime, Gilbert, agrees with him and goes along with him but this time was different and he ignored his friend because he was actually…
